Tonny Sadha

Born on the island of Bali, Tonny Sadha moved to New York in 1989 to pursue his university education. He graduated summa cum laude (highest honor) from Fashion Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.

He started his design career at Birch Coffey Design Associates, where he was involved in a series of high- end residential projects throughout New York, as well as the interiors of three luxury cruise ships for Celebrity Cruises.

From 1994 until 2005, he worked as a Senior Designer at Brennan Beer Gorman Monk / Interiors, where he honed his skills and expertise in hospitality design. His very first project with the firm, Sheraton Russell in New York, received two awards for Best Luxury Suites and Best Luxury Bar from Lodging Hospitality Magazine.

His work for the Raffles, The Plaza (now known as the Fairmont Hotel) in Singapore received the coveted Gold Key Award from Hospitality Design Magazine for Best Guestroom Design.

Other notable projects include InterContinental Hotel Boston, The Essex House New York, Four Seasons Mexico City, Swissotels in Sydney, Singapore and Moscow, as well as Hotel Sofitel, Philadelphia, which won the 2001 Hospitality Interior Design Award.

In 2005, Tonny founded his name-sake boutique design firm to focus on personalized design service to the hospitality market. He has worked on a number of projects such as Atlantica Restaurant, Allegria Hotel and Spa in Long Beach, New York and the urban Ravel Hotel in New York.

Tonny is a recipient of the 2009 “Wave of The Future” award, presented by Hospitality Design Magazine to a number of the industry’s rising talent — designers who are young enough to be considered visionary, but tested enough to be considered accomplished.

In 2010 Tonny opened a design studio in his native home, Bali. In 2011, he partnered up with Jenny Chen to create sadhachen, an international boutique design firm specializing in the world of hospitality.

Jenny Chen

Jenny Chen has over three decades of interior design experience, working on high-end interiors projects around the world with a focus on hospitality design. She brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm to all of her work. With her diverse interiors background, she provides creative solutions and original ideas.

Born in Taiwan, Jenny came to the USA in 1996 to pursue a master’s degree in interior design at Cornell University. She then worked at a number of America’s leading design firms, including Yabu Pushelberg, Brennan Beer Gorman Monk/Interiors and Tony Chi Associates, all in New York City.

During this time, she completed numerous hospitality and residential projects, including several upmarket hotels, such as Raffles L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills, MGM Hotel in Las Vegas, Crest Hotel in Singapore; Pearl Liang Restaurant in Grand Hyatt Taipei and Fiamma, winner of the Gold Key Award for Best Restaurant Design.

After several years in New York, Jenny returned to Asia to participate in the surge of high-end hospitality design that was taking root. Over the course of two years, she worked as project director with two of the biggest interior design firms in the Chinese market. Projects included Hotel One Suzhou, considered as one of the hippest hotels in China, as well as Taihu Spa, Spring Resort hotels, and several other luxury residences in China and Taiwan.

She returned to New York to join TSID to work on Hotel Allegria – a new hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Long Beach, as well as Union Pacific Headquarters in Dubai.

In 2009 she created Comma Design, Inc, and after being approached with multiple opportunities in Asia, she merged her firm with TSID, resulting in the birth of sadhachen, an international boutique design firm focusing on the world of hospitality design.
